An alumnus of Forest High School and CFCC, Sandra Friend has authored 25 books, 14 of them about her home state of Florida.
Considered the state’s expert on hiking and parks, she runs Florida Hikes!, a popular forum and information source for hikers, and is the author of several iPhone apps, including Florida State Parks, with Sutro Media.
A travel writer for more than 15 years, she blogs about Florida as she travels updating several series of Florida guidebooks.
Sandra is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers, the Florida Outdoor Writers Association (where she has served on the board of directors) and the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
