April is Marion County Farmland Preservation Month, and what better way to celebrate than enjoy the fruits of the labors our extensive farming operations from Citra to Lake Weir? As you can discover at our farmers’ markets and farm stands, local produce, fruit, and beef are all here, organic, and ready to enjoy. Many growers ship throughout Florida and the United States as well.
On April 23, pick up your produce and get ready for fun at the 4th annual Farm Preservation Festival at Harvest Village along US 441 just north of McIntosh. In addition to fresh veggies and ready-to-eat food, there will be a tractor parade, Cracker cow camp, Easter egg hunt, live farm animals, blacksmith, and more.
The event goes on from 9 AM to 3 PM. Enjoy!
