Why upstream? It makes paddling back down the Silver River SO much easier, given the noticeable current, and it gives you the opportunity to visit one of the world’s largest springs. You are not allowed to go ashore inside Silver Springs, but you can drift across the spring vents in your canoe kayak. Just keep out of the way of the glass-bottomed boats!

Bring your own kayak or canoe or rent one right on site at Silver River State Park.
It’s a great way to spend a hot summer day.
